Ramadaan 2024 brought with it many challenges. Since Covid, the number of people needing assistance has been icreasing, and sadly this remains the case, even in the auspicious month of Ramadaan. However, the staff of Mustadafin Foundation, once again showed their commitment towards poverty alleviation and worked endlessly in preparing nightly Iftaar’s (evening breaking of fast meal) and Suhoor’s (morning beginning of fast meal)
One of the largest Iftaar’s in Cape Town was organised and catered for by the Mustadafin Foundation. The community of District Six gathered in their masses to enjoy everything from savouries and sweets, to warm soup and a hearty meal.
The same was done at the Mustadafin Foundation mass Iftaar held in Bridgetown. As always, the streets were lined with those who not only attended in order to get a meal, but also to experience the “Ramadaan gees” always so prevalent at Mustadafin Foundation during Ramadaan.
As always, throughout the month of Ramadaan, when the doors of Allah SWT’s raghmah and mercy are open – many people were assisted by Mustadafin Foundation in the form of food hampers, meat packs and toiletries and blankets
Often, people are reluctant to contribute towards projects, questioning whether their contributions are large enough to make a difference. Let us assure you – any amount helps.
This Ramadaan, you could feed a community for R3500.00 a day, by donating a port of food, or part thereof – or simply entrusting us with a mere R80 for a Suhoor pack. These amounts should stay within this price range for Ramadaan 2025, and we humbly ask that you start preparing for any donations for the upcoming Ramadaan.
During Ramadaan, our office hours are adjusted to open at 7am and close at 7pm, giving all those with the nieyah of gibing Zakaah, Fitrah and Fidyah, the opportunity to do so.
We wish to convey our immense gratitude to all our donors for your continued support nad trust in us. You allow us to efficiently and promptly ensure that we alleviate hunger in this auspicious month of Ramadaan.
The Prophet SAW said: “Whichever believer feeds a hungry believer, Allah SWT feeds him from
the fruits if Paradise on the day of resurrection.”
