Mustadafin Foundation is very pleased by the efforts of Salahudien Educare in Gatesville to reach out to the children of Khayelitsha at Mustadafin Educare 3.
On Saturday 30 November, while Mustadafin Educare 3 prepared for their 2013 graduation programme of their 18 learners, Salahudien Educare Principal and teachers arrived with 10 of their 6 year old learners in tow. They were excited to hand over gifts, clothing and goodies they had collected for children less fortunate than themselves. Together the children explored the facility, posed for pictures and shared their party packs!
“When children learn at this early age to appreciate what they have and to reach out and share with those who have less than they do, they are on their way to building communities who care, ” says Hani du Toit, Projects Manager at Mustadafin Foundation. “We are grateful for the thoughtful support of Salahudien Educare and Aaliyah Barendse, the teacher who arranged this out reach for their learners. We look forward to working more closely with them in 2014 inshaAllah.”
